Become a referee with Sporting Brookside and turn your love for soccer into a side job.

Join us for an in-person course followed by on-field training to get started.


- No previous experience required.

Referee Clinic/Meeting

Attendance is mandatory for new referees. If you are interested in refereeing and have a scheduling conflict, please reach out to our referee coordinator prior to the class to discuss possible alternate options.


If you're interested in becoming a Sporting Brookside recreational referee, we have some exciting opportunities for you!

  • Enjoy a supportive atmosphere with mentors to help you gain confidence in your new role.


Requirements:


  • You must be at least 13 years old and attend the Sporting Brookside Referee Training Clinic.


  • Adults are also welcome; in fact, we appreciate having experienced individuals on our team!


  • No prior experience is needed. We'll provide all the training you need.

Our referee course includes a 5-6 hour classroom and on-field training session, plus shadowing during the first weekend of play.


If you do have previous experience in other leagues, fantastic! We still encourage you to attend our training clinic to learn what makes being a Sporting Brookside referee special.

Referee Game Day Sheet

Referees, please review this document and keep it with you at all times while in the fields, it contains:


  • Proper referee equipment
  • Ball size for each division
  • Duration of game for each division (broken out by a half)
  • Number of players allowed on the field for each division
  • Substitution rules
